Cool, soothing comfort for sun-weary skin.
Skin feeling dry, tight or a bit sun-weary? Did you know aloe vera gel is about 99 per cent water, which is why it feels so cooling and hydrating on skin? Give it a try.
Intestinal Colon comes in a pack of 90 Caps.
Aloe vera is a succulent plant that has been used for centuries, both on the skin and as a drink. The clear gel inside the leaf is rich in water, sugars, minerals and plant compounds. Many people reach for it to soothe sun-exposed or dry skin, or to support everyday digestive comfort. Because the gel is gentle and cooling, it has become a staple in the family medicine cabinet and in modern skincare.
Delivery: Ships from overseas. Usually arrives in 1 to 2 weeks.

The science behind it
Aloe vera gel comes from the parenchyma, the clear inner tissue of the leaf. It is about 98 percent water, with polysaccharides such as acemannan, plus vitamins, minerals, amino acids and small amounts of enzymes. These long-chain sugars are thought to bind water, which helps explain the hydrating feel on skin.
Gel versus latex. Just under the leaf skin sits a yellow sap called latex. It contains anthraquinones such as aloin, which have a strong stimulant laxative action in the bowel. Quality aloe drinks and supplements are made from the inner gel and are purified to remove most of the aloin. This is why the form on the label matters.
On the skin. Topical aloe has been studied for hydration, comfort and the look of skin after sun exposure. Results are mixed but generally favourable for mild, short-term use.
Taken by mouth. Acemannan is not fully digested in the stomach and may act as a mild prebiotic fibre in the gut. Some small trials have looked at inner leaf gel for digestive comfort, though the evidence is still developing (Examine.com summary).
Aloe has also been traditionally used in Western herbal medicine for soothing the digestive tract.

Common questions
What is aloe vera good for?
Aloe vera is mostly used to soothe and hydrate dry or sun-exposed skin, and in drinks or capsules to support digestive comfort. It has a long history of traditional use.
Can you take aloe vera internally?
Yes, products made from purified inner leaf gel are made for this. Avoid products made from whole leaf or latex unless the label says the aloin has been removed.
Is aloe vera gel good for sunburn?
It feels cooling and hydrating on skin that is sensitive after sun, so many people like it. It is not a replacement for sun protection.
What is the difference between aloe gel and aloe latex?
The gel is the clear inner part of the leaf. The latex is a yellow sap under the skin that acts as a strong laxative, so good products remove most of it.
How long does aloe vera take to work?
On the skin, comfort and hydration can be felt within minutes. Digestive effects, if any, may take a few weeks of regular use.
Can I use aloe vera every day?
Topical gel is generally fine for daily use. Aloe juices and capsules are usually taken for short periods, so follow the label.
Safety
Aloe latex or whole-leaf products can cause cramping and loose stools and may interact with some medicines, including those affecting potassium or heart rhythm. Avoid oral aloe in pregnancy and breastfeeding, and ask your pharmacist if you take regular medication. Patch test topical gel before first use.
