BICAPS® BUTYRIC is a combination of 240 mg of butyric acid and 160 mg of inulin, which (according to the scientific literature) may increase its concentration.
Dietary supplement BICAPS® BUTYRIC supplements the diet with butyric acid.
Butyric acid (also known as butanoic acid) belongs to the short chain fatty acids (SCFA), which are the building blocks of fats, necessary for the proper functioning of cells. It is the most important source of energy for colonocytes (colon epithelial cells).
Foods rich in fiber (including inulin) and some probiotics may increase its concentration in the body. Sometimes, however, its production in the colon is too low, which can lead to digestive disorders. In humans, its concentration also decreases with age. In such cases, butyric acid can also be administered orally. However, it is important that it reaches the intestines directly and is not digested in the stomach.
