An Innovation That Started In The Gym
While owning a 500-member Athletic Club in the 1970s, Jeff Pedersen, former USC Baseball Captain and 3x National Champion, wondered how he might help his members achieve a better, more consistent, and motivational workout. Using his years of experience in training and fitness, Jeff began developing the now well-known Sweet Sweat gel. After four years of successful physical and observational testing on his club members, Sweet Sweat hit the market. Today, Sweet Sweat has expanded to include a wide range of highly functional workout tools, including the best-selling Sweet Sweat Waist Trimmer.
Sport Of Life: Athlete Tried, Tested & Approved
After decades of intensive testing, observation, and measuring, it's probably not surprising that Sweet Sweat Gel has the attention of the sports community and then some. Today, it?s used by amateur and professional athletes all around the globe.

How it works
Collagen is the most abundant protein in the body, forming the structural framework of skin, tendons, ligaments, cartilage and bone. Supplements usually contain hydrolysed collagen (collagen peptides), where the protein has been broken into short chains of amino acids, mainly glycine, proline and hydroxyproline. Peptides of this size are absorbed more easily than whole collagen. During digestion, collagen is broken down into amino acids and small peptides, and some di- and tripeptides, such as prolyl-hydroxyproline, are absorbed intact into the blood. Researchers suspect these peptides may act as signals that encourage skin and cartilage cells (fibroblasts and chondrocytes) to produce their own matrix. Your body also needs vitamin C, zinc and copper to build collagen from its raw materials. Different types of collagen come from different sources: type I and III from bovine or marine sources are commonly used for skin, while type II is found in cartilage (NIH National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health).
What people use it for

Common questions
How long does collagen take to work?
Studies on skin typically run for 8 to 12 weeks, so give it at least two to three months of daily use before judging. Results vary from person to person.
Should I take collagen with vitamin C?
It can help, because your body needs vitamin C to make collagen. Many people take collagen with a vitamin C food or supplement, though eating a balanced diet that includes fruit and vegetables is usually enough.
Safety
Collagen is made from animal or marine sources, so check the label if you have a fish, shellfish or egg allergy or follow a vegetarian or vegan diet. Speak to a healthcare professional if you are pregnant, breastfeeding or have kidney problems.
