A little trace mineral for strong foundations.
Looking after your bones and joints? Did you know boron is a trace mineral found in fruits, nuts and vegetables? It may help support bone health and joint comfort when dietary intake is inadequate.
Boron Bororganic Glycine gives you 6mg per serving. Each pack has 240 Caps.
Boron is a trace mineral that you get from fruit, vegetables, nuts and legumes. It is not yet classified as an essential nutrient, but research shows it plays a role in how the body uses other minerals, particularly calcium and magnesium. People take boron to support bone and joint health, and some use it to support hormone balance. Supplements usually use forms such as boron citrate, glycinate or fructoborate, which are well absorbed.
Delivery: Ships from overseas. Usually arrives in 1 to 2 weeks.

The science behind it
Boron is absorbed efficiently, with more than 80 per cent of dietary boron taken up from the gut, and the body excretes most of it in urine within a day. It does not accumulate much in tissue, though bone holds a little more.
Researchers believe boron may influence the metabolism of several nutrients that matter for bone:
- Calcium and magnesium: studies suggest boron may reduce their loss in urine.
- Vitamin D: boron appears to support the way vitamin D is used.
- Sex hormones: small studies suggest boron can influence levels of oestrogen and testosterone in the normal range.
It may also influence enzymes involved in inflammation and the formation of the extracellular matrix of cartilage. Calcium fructoborate, a naturally occurring complex found in fruit, has been the subject of trials for joint comfort, reporting improvements in stiffness over a few weeks (Pietrzkowski and colleagues, 2014, Clinical Interventions in Aging, and related work).
Typical diets provide about 1 to 2 mg of boron a day. Food sources include prunes, raisins, avocado, almonds, peanuts and red wine. Supplements commonly provide around 3 mg. The NIH and Examine.com note that the evidence is promising but still early, and more large trials are needed.

Common questions
What does boron do in the body?
It seems to help the body use calcium, magnesium and vitamin D, which are important for bones. It may also play a role in hormone balance.
Which foods are high in boron?
Prunes, raisins, avocado, almonds, walnuts, peanut butter, chickpeas and apples.
How much boron should I take?
Typical supplement doses are around 3 mg a day. The upper intake level for adults is 20 mg a day, so stay within label directions.
Is boron the same as borax?
No. Borax is a cleaning chemical and is not for eating. Supplement-grade boron is a mineral complex such as citrate, glycinate or fructoborate.
How long does boron take to work?
Studies on joint comfort have seen changes within a few weeks. Bone studies run for months.
Can I take boron with calcium and vitamin D?
Yes. Boron is often combined with these nutrients in bone health formulas.
