Calm focus without the drowsiness.
Want to feel relaxed but still switched on? Did you know L-theanine is an amino acid found naturally in tea leaves, famous for its calming effect? It may help support relaxation and focus.
L-Theanine gives you 100mg per serving. Each pack has 30 Caps.
L-theanine is a calming amino acid found almost exclusively in tea leaves, especially green tea. It is the reason a cup of tea can feel relaxing yet alert, unlike the jitters often caused by coffee alone. L-theanine reaches the brain and supports a relaxed, focused state of mind. People use it for everyday stress, concentration and as part of an evening wind-down routine, with or without caffeine.
Delivery: Ships from overseas. Usually arrives in 1 to 2 weeks.

The science behind it
L-theanine (gamma-glutamylethylamide) is structurally similar to glutamate, the brain's main excitatory messenger, and to glutamine. Unlike many nutrients, it crosses the blood-brain barrier readily, using amino acid transporters.
In the brain, theanine appears to gently modulate glutamate receptors, raise levels of the calming messenger GABA, and influence dopamine and serotonin. Electroencephalogram studies show theanine increases alpha brain wave activity, the pattern linked with relaxed alertness, within about 40 minutes of a dose (Nobre et al., Asia Pacific Journal of Clinical Nutrition, 2008).
The caffeine partnership. Several trials show that L-theanine combined with caffeine improves attention and accuracy more than caffeine alone, with fewer jitters. Typical research doses range from 100 to 400 mg of theanine.
Absorption and forms. Theanine is absorbed from the small intestine, with blood levels peaking at about 50 minutes and a half-life of roughly 1 to 3 hours. Supplements use the L-form, which is the natural one. D-theanine is a less active mirror image and can appear in lower-quality synthetic products, so purity matters (Examine.com).
An average cup of green tea provides only about 8 to 25 mg, so supplements supply far more.

Common questions
What does L-theanine do?
It promotes a calm, focused state of mind by influencing relaxing brain chemicals and brain wave activity. It does not make you sleepy.
When is the best time to take L-theanine?
Take it in the daytime for calm focus or in the evening to unwind. It works with or without food.
Can I take L-theanine with coffee?
Yes. Theanine and caffeine are a popular pairing, because theanine can soften the jittery edge of caffeine.
How long does L-theanine take to work?
Many people feel its effect in 30 to 60 minutes.
Does L-theanine make you drowsy?
Not typically. It supports relaxation while keeping you alert, though some people find it helps them sleep when taken at night.
Is L-theanine the same as green tea?
It is the key calming amino acid in tea, but a supplement provides a much larger and more consistent amount.
Safety
L-theanine is well tolerated, although it may cause headache or dizziness in rare cases. It may add to the effect of blood pressure medicines and sedatives. Seek advice if you are pregnant, breastfeeding or taking prescribed medicines, particularly for mood or sleep.
