Angelica is a flowering plant that is native to the Middle East but now grows all over the world. Its name means “angelic” in Latin and is believed to refer to the pleasant scent of the plant. Angelica Roots are used along with Juniper Berries in the distillation of gin, which gives the liquor its characteristic scent. Angelica Root has been used in herbal medicine since at least the 10th century, and continues to be a popular medicinal herb all over the world today. Angelica is considered to be a warming tonic and it is typically taken for system restoration, digestive support, and hormonal support particularly in women. This herb is closely related to Dong Quai/Angelica Sinensis, so they have many similar properties to support the female hormonal system.
This tincture is formulated with a 1:5 herb to menstruum ratio using Angelica Roots grown in Bulgaria.

How to take it?
Our tinctures contain 40% grain alcohol in order to preserve the quality of the solution. Since alcohol can have a rather offensive taste, we have a number of suggestions for how to ingest this:
- Place the drops directly under the tongue and chase with a small glass of water, juice, or any other fluid that may taste more pleasant
- Place the drops directly in an ounce or so of water or other fluid to dilute the taste
